There are 2 male and 1 female Greater Spotted Woodpecker flying round and 1 drumming regularly in Centre Vale Park woodland at Todmorden, also a Tawny Owl occupying a large rot hole in a mature Ash tree. 3 Nuthatches chasing each other and a pair of mallard in the stream.

  1. Hi Philip,
The Council needs to know about the possible owl nest. They will be careful if they know about it I'm sure.

Did anybody mention the Autumn Crocus at the meeting last Thursday about grassland wildflowers in Centre Vale?

    Sorry I couldn't be there.

  2. Hi Steve, the owl hole is in the upper wood where no management is taking place and is quite safe.

Yes Mick mentioned the Autumn Crocus and I pointed out the position we had transplanted them to. It was a successful meeting.
